The Norcross Southern was a medium sized N-Scale demonstration layout. It was built in the conference room at the old Digitrax production facility, and has since been dismantled. This case study was originally presented as part of the “Digitrax Big Book of DCC” and it has been reproduced here from that text. This study was originally presented as part of three chapters about DCC Installation based on different layouts. The other layouts discussed were the Sante Fe & Western and the Brandywine & Benedictine. It is recommended that you read these studies as well as some of the topics overlap.

LocoNet: The Digitrax Difference (/support/loconet/home)
LocoNet: The Digitrax Difference    LocoNet System Architecture-Complete Train Control® System architecture is the most significant difference among the various train and layout control systems on the market today. Even though this is transparent to users, there is an EXTREMELY big difference in the technology, implementation and philosophy of LocoNet compared to the to other architectures.  Many other digital command control and layout command control companies use a simple bus architecture that is inherently limited while others use extremely complicated architectures that are limited because of the relatively few devices available to set up a complete system.
