Q:  How do you reverse the direction of the engine so you can run them on the same train with one in the backwards position?

A:  Before consisting the locos, make sure that both are traveling in the SAME PHYSICAL DIRECTION ON THE TRACK.  The locomotives can be arranged in either orientation hood forward or backward as long as they are set to travel in the same physical direction when you set up the consist.

(The direction indicators on the throttles may or may not match, the important thing is that the locomotives are set up to move in the same direction and are not pulling against each other.)

Remember that, with command control, reversing takes place in the locomotive rather than with the polarity of the rails.
