Digitrax UT4D Throttle

Operating Instructions

Selecting a locomotive or consist

1.         Dial the 4-digit locomotive address into the “LOCO ADDRESS” dials

            - For a consist, the address will normally be the lead locomotive

            - For a 3-digit locomotive number, use “0” for the first digit

2.         Press the “SEL” key, the ST light on the throttle should flash green

3.         Move the direction selector on the throttle to either “R” or “F”

4.         Move the speed knob until train moves

5.         For headlight, press the “F0” key (“F3” will activate the Mars-light on equipped units)

 

Dispatching a locomotive or consist (every time you park your train)

1.         Ensure train is fully stopped

2.         Set direction selector to neutral (middle) position

3.         Press the “DISP” key, the ST light on the throttle should flash red

4.         Unless directed otherwise, leave 4-digit address as is

5.         Plug throttle into Loconet panel on fascia to conserve battery

 

Stealing a locomotive or consist (only in case of runaway or emergency)

1.         Stop own train, if required

2.         Dial the 4-digit locomotive address into the “LOCO ADDRESS” dials

3.         Press the “STEAL” key, the ST light on the throttle should flash green

4.         Dispatch the locomotive/consist when problem resolved

 

Loss of control

1.         Plug throttle into any Loconet panel on fascia

2.         If ST light on throttle is red, press “SEL” key, the ST light should flash green

3.         Stop train

4.         Replace battery in throttle

5.         Acquire locomotive/consist, if required
