CV13 Analog Functions Enable/Disable

The analog functions enabled CV, CV13 lets you define which functions are active when the decoder is operating on DC track power.  If you want function leads F0 forward and reverse and F1 through F6 to be active when on DC (for example when using a short DC track as "brake section") program CV13 for a CV value of 255 (xFF Hex).  The factory default value for CV13 is 00, which turns OFF all functions when on DC track.  Even though the motor will stop on DC power, the functions will still operate if CV13 is programmed for them to do so.  To find the best settings for you experiment with the values until you get the desired settings.

 

CV 13 is available in DZ121, DN149K2, DN141E2, DN141K2, DN122K2, DN144K, DN148K and DN142 Series decoders.

 

1.  Be sure that analog mode conversion is enabled in CV29.  Programming CV13 will not have any effect if analog mode conversion is NOT enabled. 

 

To determine the decimal value to program in CV13 add all the values from the table below for the functions you want to have ON during DC operation.  You can program the decimal value into CV13 or click here to convert the decimal number you came up with to the hex value to use for programming in older throttles:

For example 64+128+1+2+4+8=207 decimal or "xcF" hex will operate F0 forward & reverse, F1, F2, F3 & F4 functions on DC.  To operate F0 Reverse and F0 Forward add 1+2=3 decimal or x03 hex.

 

Series 3 (and later) decoders handle the analog functions enable feature automatically.  When a Digitrax Series 3 decoder moves from a DCC section to an analog track section, the functions that were active on DCC will remain active on DC.  For these decoders, CV13 is not available because it is not needed.  The following decoders handle analog functions enable automatically:  DZ143 Series, DN163K0A, DN163M0, DN163A0, DN163A1, DH163A0, DH163K0, DH163 Series,  DH163IP,  DH163L0, DG383AR, DG583AR, DG583S, etc.
