My dealer told me that the when the PM42 changes polarity on a section of track, that it should remain that way till another "short" is detected.
Mine will change polarity for about 1 - 1.5 seconds and then change back.
Is this normal and my dealer told me wrong?
Your dealer is correct.
You may need to adjust the trip timing of that particular node of the PM42.
