Starter Sets
These products are retired, and are no longer available.The Chief Starter set contained a DCS100 command station, and a DT100 throttle. These sets included a premium decoder of the appropriate scale for N or HO. In addition the Chief starter set was available as a Radio Equipped Set. Note early version Chief Starter Sets shipped with DCS100's with stereo clips as shown here. In versios produced in 2003 and later the screw terminal version of the DCS100 was shipped with Chief Starter Sets. Produced from 1996-2000

The Digitrax Challenger starter set was the first start set we released. The set contained a CT4 throttle and a DB100a. These early sets also included a mobile decoder of your choice. The Challenger was shipped with one of the following mobile decoders, DH83, DN140, DH84, DH140, DN82, DN93, DH82, or DH84P. The CT4 included with the Challenger is the only throttle Digitrax ever released that would not work on LocoNet. It was an analog input device for the command station. Produced 1993-1998
The Digitrax Big Boy and Big Boy FX starter sets contained a DT200, DB100a, and an LA1 or LA2 (LocoNet Adapter). The Big Boy was shipped with one of the following mobile decoders, DH83, DH84P, DN94, DN140, DH84FX, DH83FX, DH84, DH140, or DN93FX. Produced from 1994-1998
The Empire Builder starter set was introduced as an intermediate level starter system. The set included a DB150 Command Station/Booster, DT100 throttle, a Mobile Decoder, and a LT1 LocoNet Tester. The Empire Builder was also available in a Simplex Radio Equipped set. Produced from 1998-2000
Empire Builder II was the second generation of the Empire Builder starter set. It contained a DB150 Command Station/Booster and LT1 Tester. It featured the new DT300 throttle and contained a UP3 universal panel. The set included a premium decoder in N, HO, or G scales. The Empire Builder II was also available in a Simplex Radio Equipped version. Retired in 2005
