JMD Plastics and Hobby is the income arm of the 501 (c) (3) non-profit Motorcycle and Model Railroad Museum, which houses a 3,000 square foot HO scale model railroad layout that focuses on the Green Bay and Western Railroad and Duluth Missabe and Iron Range Railroad, plus an HOn3 tourist line. All funds raised in the hobby shop support the continued growth of the layouts and restoration of the motorcycle collection. All of the motorcycles in the collection are restored to original condition and are in running order. The shop will be moving to a larger location in the spring of 2016 while maintaining their production facilities in their current location, as they produce over 300 (and growing!) unique model railroad products that are sold online and in-store, as well as through major national hobby wholesalers. JMD Plastics and Hobby features award winning custom model building, DCC decoder installations, repairs, custom painting, layout building and design, how-to clinics, and camaraderie for those who enjoy the hobby. We focus on helping people who want to get started in the hobby to do so the "right way" so they don't have to spend money on products that will not suit their needs, and we love to help get kids involved in the hobby as well!
